World Mental Health Day 2016

Monday, October 10, 2016

It is World Mental Health Day.
If you see someone struggling in their lives please reach out to them. Simply asking someone if they are ok or letting someone know that you are there for them can make a big difference. The simple words ' are you ok' and 'I am here for you' can mean so much to someone who is potentially feeling very overwhelmed and alone. Don't be afraid to ask someone if they are ok.

If you are struggling with difficult emotions, thoughts and feelings, please remember that that is ok. It is what you do with it that matters.

Sometimes when we keep everything bottled up, deep inside, it is hard to see options and it is hard to see a way through. Reaching out and talking to someone you trust and feel comfortable with can help you see that there is actually a way through your struggles, you were just struggling to see it yourself due to overwhelming and difficult feelings perhaps.

So please remember - It is ok to not be ok and it is most definately ok to say you are not ok.

Please remember also that you are not alone. Many MANY of us - (probably more people than you might think) at some stage in our lives struggle with mental health issues.

There is help available. You don't have to struggle in silence.
