EDANI are delighted and deeply appreciative that, Miss Banbridge and Miss Northern Ireland Finalist, Dionne Hull and her family have selected us as their chosen charity to fundraise for. Ann and Aileen had the pleasure of meeting up with Dionne and her mother, Julie recently and we have no doubt that Dionne will go far. Dionne's personality; her friendliness, her generosity, her kindness, her warmth and indeed compassion and sensitivity for those struggling with an eating disorder is radiating. We wish Dionne all the very best in the competition and indeed all her future endeavours. Once again Dionne, thank-you very much for helping to raise awareness of eating disorders and for choosing to raise much needed money for EDANI.
Please take time to read Dionne’s story below.
“I have entered into Miss Northern Ireland and just recently won my heat, I'm now Miss Banbridge. I'm through to the final of Miss Northern Ireland (May 16th). I have decided to do some charity work, my chosen charity is; The Eating Disorder Association NI as this is very close to home. My sister was diagnosed with anorexia two years ago, and is currently in recovery, however, she still suffers with extreme anxiety, depression and panic attacks. Therefore we have decided to fundraise for EDA.NI which is an organisation within Northern Ireland which provides help and support for people who suffer from mental health problems. This charity helps clinics across Northern Ireland one of which is Beechcroft where my sister began her treatment. EDYS (Eating Disorder Youth Service) within Northern Ireland has given our family lots of support through this hard time. Therefore we would like to give something back”
